Tottenham ‘sacrifice’ decides he’s ‘ready to quit’ as £43m deal is ‘close to completion’ in double exit

According to reports, one player is ‘likely’ to be ‘sacrificed’ at Tottenham Hotspur this summer, while another is ‘close’ to a move to a European giant.

Spurs are among this summer’s biggest spenders in Europe, investing around £60m on arrivals following the arrival of Thomas Frank to replace Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham still have plenty to do this summer as upgrades are required in most positions after they finished 17th in the Premier League last season.

The north London outfit at least ended the campaign on a high as they won the Europe League to end their trophy drought and claim a spot in the Champions League.

This also boosts Tottenham’s budget and their current priority is to sign Mohammed Kudus as they stepped up their interest in the West Ham star last week.

Over the weekend, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano claimed Kudus has already ‘said yes’ to a move to Spurs.

Romano tweeted: ‘Understand Mohammed Kudus is not talking to any other club at this stage: he wants Tottenham move. Kudus already said yes to Spurs project and club to club talks with West Ham will continue soon. Clear intention is to join Spurs. #THFC.’

Now, Football Insider claim Richarlison is ‘likely to be sacrificed’ if ‘Spurs manage to land Kudus’.

Richarlison was only a bit-part player for Spurs last season as he’s been dogged by injuries and disappointing form in recent seasons and is ‘ready to quit’ the club this summer.

The report adds:

‘Richarlison is ready to leave Tottenham this summer after news of a potential incoming, sources have told Football Insider.

‘If Spurs manage to land Kudus, sources close to the club say that Richarlison is likely to be the one sacrificed to make room in the squad, with a number of clubs monitoring the situation. Sources say that no decision will be made on his future until Frank has assessed his squad.’

Cristian Romero could also leave Spurs this summer as the World Cup winner is attracting interest from Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.

A new report from Spanish outlet Fichajes claims Romero is ‘getting closer’ to Atletico Madrid for around £42m (50 million euros).

‘Romero’s future appears to be clearer and closer to Atlético de Madrid. The Argentine defender has decided not to accept Tottenham’s latest offer and is reportedly taking steps to join Atlético Madrid.

‘According to sources close to the player and the club, the transfer is close to completion and is expected to be worth around €50 million.’
