In Eastbourne in July, it’s always Taylor’s time. The American continued his domination at the Eastbourne Open, defeating compatriot Jenson Brooksby in Saturday’s final, 7-5 6-1, to complete his fourth title run at Devonshire Park.
Fritz, who has won the title in 2019, 2022, 2024 and 2025, improves to 18-4 lifetime at the event.
The fifth-ranked American claims his 10th ATP title, and fifth on grass, and he will head to Wimbledon, where he is slated to face Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard in the first round, with momentum.
“Honestly there’s just something about Eastbourne,” Fritz said. “I just love it here.”
The 27-year-old came through a tight opening set in windy conditions, breaking Brooksby in the 12th game to take it after an earlier trade of breaks. He saved a pair of break points at 1-1 in the second set and proceeded to run away with the final five games.
“I fought through a lot of matches and I thought I just got better and better with each match,” Fritz said.
