Here’s what’s on tap…
Sabalenka v Siegemund
First up on Centre Court it is World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka against the only player outside of the Top 100 still remaining in the draw. Yikes, that’s a tough assignment for 104-ranked Laura Siegemund, but she’s already defeated sixth-seeded Madison Keys, the woman who took out Sabalenka in this year’s Australian Open final.
Perhaps the 37-year-old – yes, you read that right! – German has another trick up her sleeve? Hard to imagine Sabalenka, who has reached the quarterfinals at her last 11 majors, stepping on this land mine.
Pick: Sabalenka in straights
Norrie on Centre?
If Cameron Norrie was going to have a chance to upset two-time defending champion Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals on Tuesday, you’d think his best chance would be inside the friendly confines of No.1 Court. The Brit has made no secret of the fact that he loves that court, but he’s going to be forced over to Centre on Tuesday, where Alcaraz has made a killing over the last two and a half Wimbledons.
Impressively, Norrie has a few wins against Alcaraz, two of their last three meetings have gone to the southpaw, in fact. What does Cam know that the rest of the tour doesn’t?
What everybody knows: Alcaraz is a different beast at the Slams these days, and he’s going for his 19th consecutive Wimbledon win as well. He’ll lose at Wimbledon someday – but probably not Tuesday.
Pick: Alcaraz in three
Fritz vs Khachanov
Fifth-seeded Taylor Fritz is looking for his first Wimbledon semifinal; ditto for Khachanov, who has put together a sterling career and doesn’t get enough credit for it.
A few stats regarding this matchup stick out more than the others. First: Khachanov is 0-10 against the Top 5 at the majors.
Another: Khachanov has won both meetings against Fritz, but they have not met since 2020.
Fritz is probably in better form overall, and on grass of late, having entered Wimbledon on the strength of grass titles at Stuttgart and Eastbourne, but he’ll have to deliver the execution to get past his rival.
Pick: Fritz in five, again! (for the third time this Wimbledon)
Anisimova vs Pavlyuchenkova
Amanda Anisimova is still so young, at 23, it is starting to feel likely that she is going to get back to a Grand Slam semifinal or even win a major in the next few years. A win over Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and she’d have her deepest run at a major since she had her breakout run at Roland-Garros, where she reached the semis. That was before she lost her father and coach to an untimely death, and before she had to take time away from the sport to find out who she was as a person and as a player.
In 2025 Anisimova has been a player on the rise, and she’ll make her Top 10 debut as a result of her fine play after Wimbledon. She's also taken a liking to the grass this year, winning 10 of 12 on the surface. Meanwhile, resilient Pavlyuchenkova, 34, has battled lyme disease and found her way back to good health and top tennis this year.
Two great stories, two captivating personalities, and two incredibly talented ball strikers looking for a breakthrough.
It should be noted that Anisimova has won all three of the pair’s previous meetings. Matchups do matter, tennis fans.
Who takes it?
Pick: We think Anisimova in straights – two close sets. Enjoy.
