Wild Fans Must Embrace Hygge Amidst A Slow Start

by news-sportpulse_admin

October was rough for Minnesota Wild fans. We don’t need to go into specifics, but it’s been a slog. So, let’s kick it back a few years and relearn hygge. The concept of coziness derived from simple pleasures originated in Denmark, but I think we could use it in these trying times.

So, what would our favorite players advise when it comes to hygge?

Scented Candles

Mats Zuccarello has had some time on his hands lately, and it would not surprise me if he has spent it matching each of his teammates to a specific scented candle. There are so many scents out there! Take a small chunk of time and smell some candles until you find one that you like. It’s worth it!

Comfy Blankets

Marcus Foligno seems like the kind of guy who cannot pass up a comfortable blanket. His wife probably steers him quickly past the bedding section at Target because otherwise, they are walking out with at least two blankets. Everyone should have a comfortable blanket. It’s nice to cuddle up in when it’s cold, and if the Wild aren’t up to par, roll over and take a little nap underneath it.

Sauna

If you have access to a sauna, you should take advantage of it, and know you are in good company. Like most Russians, Kirill Kaprizov is a noted sauna user who spends more time in there than seems humanly possible. Don’t push yourself, but think about taking a little time to sweat out the bad feelings from the season.

A Good Book or Podcast

Let’s cross our fingers that the season will pick up soon, but if you need a break from hockey, consider picking up a good book or podcast. I would love to hear what Filip Gustavsson has on his TBR list or which narrative podcast Marco Rossi wants to add to his queue.

A Nice Bath

I’m not sure if it’s his role as a paternal figure in the locker room or his age and tenure with the team, but I feel like Jared Spurgeon has a large bathtub he uses regularly. Follow his lead and indulge yourself in a nice, long, hot bath. No bathtub? No problem. Just take a nice, leisurely shower. Put on some fun music and enjoy the hot water.

A Warm Drink and a Dessert

A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down, so why can’t a good dessert with a warm drink wash down a bitter hockey game? Joel Eriksson Ek seems like someone who could put out a nice dessert spread with some hot apple cider or hot cocoa. Who wouldn’t love a nice Swedish sweet served by the most punchable face in the league?

In general, Minnesota Wild fans need to take care of themselves. We all remember 2023-24 — the slog of making it through the season with fandom intact. Who knows what the rest of the season will look like? But let’s all sit back, relax, and pace ourselves so that the Wild have a chance to redeem themselves.
